Media Media Media

As i undergo my first month 'training' as a Media/ Communication Student,
i realised a lot of things.
1. Writting is not as easy as what i thought previously.
2. Writting is indeed interesting
3. Comments are getting more and more interesting haha

Okay, so why did i said the above reasons.

First is because through Media Writting module i was exposed so much to the world of different techniques of writting and this alerted me on how am i going to structure my way of writting in the future....and honestly speaking, i really think that the first lesson and the last lesson is the most interesting thus far.
On the first lesson, i was glad to be taught the guidelines of gathering the broad informations through a conversation-on-a-phone-call technique which mesmerises me so much that i found myself liking the module almost in an instant. On the first day too, i was challenged to write a 400 words article as an individual works and haha frankly speaking, i really have a bad bad bad time in writting serious article and haha i was really having a difficult time writting out the draft. However, i managed to overcome it eventually...or at least for the time being...so ya, this technique i hope will help me further and can come in handy at times when i was lost in track.

Then today's lesson i was taught about the steps in writting and structuring of a newspaper article...sexy...i never thought that making a newspaper is going to be that hard... as in okay, i'm not that dumb i know it is not easy just that haha honestly speaking, i dont really spend time reading the colums and going through the important news etc. and today as i was faced with the analysing and justificating of a newspaper, i was like damn...how cool is the newspaper making actually. The 7 steps introduced about the Proximity, Timeliness, Impact etc etc. are also such an interesting facts to read about... =) very good.... haha and ohh i really like the idea that one of the team in class made about two different news being put up as the cover page but one news in the back of each other etc, yeah anyway, it is just so cool that for a moment i was brough to a more different angle of looking at a newspaper article... man.. i just love it when it challenged my stupid mind...lol because it made me appearing to be more clever...haha and more creative... lol thats the way baby like an art...i love it...

And speaking of arts, it will lead it's way to one of the most difficult module i have to learn, which to my surprise had eventually grab the whole of me haha and yeah, this module is called Communication Module, a module crafted and led by a smart *** who is nice and can also not be very nice sometimes... yeah anyway, this module as stated, is a communication module which helped in making us to think deep...really deep... as we were expose every week with different2 difficult and new issues about the world of media.

Out of the four module i had done i love Framing and Gatekeeping theory the most haha because again, haha it is like arts...baby whereby gatekeepers/ framers, basically the publisher's 'to be' are told to undergo a certain editting, and decision making process, called the Gatekeeping/ Agenda-setting process; and this point of time, is the moment where these artists are the one who has the power in deciding which informations to be included which is not, and which are the one that can be made to give a certain impact of priming ( where peope get influenced by the news and forced to think about it...haha way of psychoing people to believe in what we think is true...lol) and Just like the artist who want to give a certain topic that people will focus on and so that the surrounding noises be it physically or psychologically is not going to intrude itself there and create challenges, these selected informations are to be FRAMED! so that the topic is there on the face of the paper and so clear was it that people have nothing else to say but to get mesmerised by it...

Now u know why there are different section in the newspaper? haha different framing of content focus. and really haha despite of being forced to read a longggggggg reading list every week before we come to class, eventually i found that my frown about reading and understading this particular activity is turn to a nod in the head as i gained more informations each week and take it as part of the set meal i need to know; i found myself liking the idea of reading those things...haha though ya...can be kinda boring sometimes haha but ok lah, it is still a good read though lol.

Anyway, there are 2 other modules to go and well will tell u again about that soon...
well, for the time being i really think that as i mentioned writting may not be easy but it is indeed interesting as i learned more about it each day...how this silent words make a difference to the world as it was being revealed one by one...through different medium, verbal and non-verbal; as we learn more about the world as well.

Lastly for critics, haa yea it's not easy to accept critics, but without critics there wont be any improvement, so its a vice versa thing, thus it depends on how we see it...of course, not too perjudiced because it is not going to be very nice...and it will make people to be more demoralised that encouraged... so, anyway, hope that which ever way it is, there is a certain limitation involved so that we wont go overboard.

Okay, with that let me take my leave and give my poor body, soul and mind a break...

The time now is 12:55 a.m. local time
currently listening to my one and only favourite witty idol singing to his catchy song...
and nothing else but the sound of the night...

Okay than got to go...
take care now bye bye then

Love always,
Yuliana Kasman
